Today is the last day of our summer mileage challenge. Everyone is expected to post. Only athletes who posted in June, July, and August will be eligible for mileage awards. If you are new and haven't been keeping track, please post your best estimate. Everyone is expected to keep track of their mileage each day/week/month.
We had a lot of strong performances today, but also many of you who were hoping to do better. Now is a good time to recommit to those things that will help us achieve our goals both individually and as a team.
Pre-Region Results We had a great showing at the Westlake Grass Relays! Our boys varsity team took 8th place, and our girls were 6th. We represented well in each of the 7 different races with many of you running PRs. The highlight was listening as you tried to come up with cheers that would motivate your teammates, then watching you run all over the course supporting each other! Way to go Titans!

Charlie ran his first varsity race at Highland, rarely misses a practice, and is very coachable. It was a hot day, but everyone handled it well. It was fun to see so many of you compete in your first Cross Country meet! Look through the results, there is a lot of useful information that can help you as you prepare for future races. Skyler was out top varsity boy finisher in 17th place. Kate T was out first varsity girl in 26th. For JV we had Will Spence with a 33rd place finish and Brooklynn with a 23rd place finish.
Highland Results Our team trip to Jordanelle will be on Saturday, the 10th. The bus will leave at 7:30 AM from in front of the high school. We will return to the high school between 3:30/4 PM. We will be running on the perimeter trail on the east side of the lake and then shuttle over to the Hailstone recreation area. Come dressed to run and bring the following items:

We were very impressed with the strong effort everyone put into the workout today. All the consistent summer training is paying off! Our team time trial is on 8/8. The address for the Cottonwood Complex is 1300 East 4400 South. Park in the lot north of the softball fields and we will meet up at the amphitheater in the north east area of the park. There will be a short, informal parent meeting before the time trial. Families and alumni are invited to stay for the time trial and cheer for the runners! 6:00 PM- Athletes meet and receive instructions from coaches 6:10 PM- Athletes begin warm-up 6:20-6:40 PM- Parent meeting 7:00 PM- 2 mile time trial 7:25-8:00 PM- Team cool-down all athletes All athletes are expected to participate in the time trial unless they are injured or out of town. Athletes must have completed all of the registration steps to participate. Olympus Cross Country 2019 Time Trial Map The course will consist of 2, 1 mile laps meaning you will cross the finish line twice to complete the course.
