Monday 8/8 first official practice at 7:30 AM at the track.
Complete registration and join GroupMe. BRING YOUR UHSAA PHYSICAL PAPERWORK.I like to have practice early when we can so that we can avoid extreme heat. This will be a short practice ending around 8:30 AM
Monday 8/8 parent and athlete meeting at 6:30 PM at the OHS amphitheater.
This is a second opportunity to BRING YOUR UHSAA PHYSICAL PAPERWORK. It will be a brief meeting, then will open up to be more of a "social" where parents and athletes can get to know each other and get to know coaches. Bring some snacks or beverages to encourage some socializing!
Tuesday 8/9 7:30 AM practice at the Cottonwood Complex
The track and infield is booked, so we are having this practice at an alternate location. This is a "fun" practice that involves relays and costumes. It is Oly XC tradition; we call it Frog Relays. Wear something silly that will not be too hot and that will allow you to run 1/2 mile without any trouble. There will be prizes for best costumes and for winning relays. There will also be popsicles. This practice will be a bit longer and will end around 9:30 AM or 10:00 AM.
Wednesday 8/10 Jordanelle Reservoir trip!
Bus leaves at 7:30AM, returns 3:45PM. Bring sunscreen, swimsuits, towels, and pack your lunch! We will go on a trail run, then hang out at the Marina to swim and play games.
Thursday 8/11 and Friday 8/12 practice at 2:30PM (teacher work days)
Practice will end around 4:00 PM
Saturday 8/13 upperclassmen lead practice at 8:00AM
The schedule below is an OUTLINE for the month. Practice start times, locations, and workout details are subject to change. Generally, I like to go to a park once a week (usually on Monday); however, it has been difficult to reserve busses to take us to different practice locations right after school.
